When Violet Blue called me 'the mistress of literary erotica,' I almost spilled my coffee. (And I consider coffee to be a precious liquid.) Ms. Blue knows a thing (or five hundred) about erotica, as she’s the editor of the bestselling Best Women’s Erotica series.
Over the past twenty-plus years (give a girl a plus, won’t you), I’ve written nearly thirty novels, including Tiffany Twisted (a body-swap adventure), Melt with You (time travel to the 80s), and the upcoming Dark Secret Love (featuring a dom’s dom).
To my delight, many of my novels and short stories have been translated into Japanese, Dutch, German, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish and Greek. I’m always thrilled to see the covers from foreign locations. I feel as if I’m travelling even while still ensconced in my colourful corner office. (The wall across from my desk is covered with postcards, magazine cut-outs, poems, and photographs.)
My stories have appeared in more than one hundred anthologies, which means my bookshelves sag quite a bit in the centre. I’m pleased to have been edited by Stephen Elliott (Sex for America), Zane (Purple Panties), and Sommer Marsden (Coupling).
When not writing sultry short stories, I edit erotic anthologies. (Well, actually, I often do both at the same time. I’m ambidextrous like that.) Alison’s Wonderland was my fiftieth collection.
You’ve probably heard me say this before, but I am loyal to coffee (black), lipstick (red), and tequila (straight). I have tattoos, but no piercings; a wicked tongue, but a quick smile; and bittersweet memories, but no regrets. I believe it won't rain if I don't bring an umbrella, prefer hot and dry to cold and wet, and love to spout my favourite motto which is 'you can sleep when you're dead'. A former deejay, I will always choose Led Zeppelin over the Beatles, the Cure over NIN, and the Stones over everyone. Although I appreciate good rock, I confess to a pitiful weakness for 80s hair bands.
In all things important, I am faithful to my partner of seventeen years, but I still can't choose just one perfume.
